CrossFit Kids

CrossFit Montgomery offers the following classes for kids:

  • Preschoolers (ages 3-5) – Mondays 5:00-5:30 p.m.
    Cost: $25 for members, $40 for non-members
  • Kids (ages 5-12) – Mondays and Wednesdays 5:00-5:45 p.m.
    Cost: $25 for members, $40 for non-members – 1x week
    $50 for members, $80 for non-members – 2X week
  • Teens (ages 12-18) – Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 6:00-7:00 p.m.
    Cost: $50 for members, $80 for non-members – 2x week
    $75 for members, $120 for non-members – 3X week

WHAT IS CROSSFIT KIDS?
CrossFit Kids is a strength and conditioning program that is specifically designed for children and teenagers and aimed to help them develop a lifelong love of fitness.  CrossFit Kids is not simply a scaled down version of CrossFit.  It is entirely, absolutely CrossFit geared and designed for a special population and the specific needs of that population.

CrossFit Kids workouts consist of constantly varied, functional movements that deliver a fitness that is broad, inclusive and general and scalable for any participant at any level.  The functional movements involve exercises that are fundamental to all things kids need to do when they play—pull, push, run, throw, climb, lift and jump.

When fitness is defined as broad, inclusive and general, it means that participants will become well-rounded athletes who will be better at any and every sport they play because CrossFit Kids doesn’t coach them to be good at just one thing.

Our workouts will increase physical competence in ten fitness domains:  cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy.

*CrossFit Montgomery utilizes the CrossFit Kids certified lesson plans for all classes/age groups:  Pre-School, Pre-Teens and Teens.  All of the movements are taught safely and effectively under the close supervision of thoroughly trained CrossFit Kids trainers Jennie Sumner (co-owner of CrossFit Montgomery) and Andrea Searor (co-owner of CrossFit Apeiron).

HISTORY OF CROSSFIT KIDS
Since late 2004, CrossFit Kids has been “Forging Elite Fitness” and is currently in over 500 gyms in North America, Australia, Europe, Africa, India, Japan and Panama.  With a network of over 2500 CrossFit Kids Trainers, CrossFit Kids is being implemented in preschools, high schools with before and after school programs as well as being integrated into physical education curriculum.

GOAL AND MISSION
“Our goal at CrossFit Kids is to educate children and teens about functional fitness and inspire them to pursue it.  We believe these will be the foundational experiences our children require to embark on lifelong journeys of wellness that will enable them to effectively perform simple yet necessary tasks well into their adult years.  Our dream is to foster a generation of healthy, fit individuals who require limited assistance and enjoy freedom of movement and activity throughout their lifespan.  To that end, we design each of our workouts with the varied modalities that will increase fitness levels across a broad spectrum of performance and health considerations.   Always functional, never boring, CrossFit Kids resolves the issues of our sedentary, noxious lifestyles.  Working the body according to the way it was designed, we are training a generation to take responsibility for their health via the path of least resistance.”
