Join us at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 4 as we honor the heroes killed in action August 6, 2011 by completing the “31Heroes” WOD. Join our team and/or donate to the cause (funds for programs that provide support to families of all fallen military heroes—past, present, and future). If you don’t register and come to WOD on Saturday, we are asking that you donate $15.
Try to pick a partner who has similar abilities as you. We will have 6 or 7 pairs WOD’ing at one time. We will have 3 or more heats depending on how many people come. We will be running rain or shine.
Thanks to everyone who has registered and/or donated to this cause! As of Wednesday, we have 14 registrants and we have raised $562.
“31Heroes”
AMRAP 31 Min.
- 8 Thrusters (155#/105#)
- 6 Rope Climbs (15 ft. ascent)
- 11 Box Jumps (30″/24″)
As always, we will scaled and modify the movements where necessary. This is a Partner WOD – Partner #1 will perform the work listed above. Partner #2 will run 400m with a sandbag (45/25). Once Partner #2 returns from the run, Partner #1 will grab the sandbag and begin their 400m, while Partner #2 continues work wherever #1 left off. Score = Total # of reps.
RSVP on Facebook and check back often as we will provide more updates as we get closer to the event.
Andrea (pictured above in the yellow tee) was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan in 1978 and relocated to Montgomery, Alabama in May 2012. She was introduced to CrossFit in 2010 during a one-year tour to Baghdad, Iraq where she became passionate about the sport; not only for its physical benefits but its sense of community. Andrea holds a Level 1 certification and a variety of specialty certification. When she is not training and coaching, Andrea balances spending time with her two children (Tori and Nate), serving in the Air Force and co-owning CrossFit Apeiron in Enterprise, AL. She has competed in the Victory Base Complex, Baghdad Hardbodies competition (1st Place); Victory Base Complex, Baghdad CrossFit competition (3rd Place Team); Galaxy Nova obstacle course/figure competition; Tough Mudder, Warrior Dash, Marine Corps Marathon and Rock and Roll ½ Marathon. Andrea looks forwarded to being a part of the CrossFit Montgomery family and coaching and training with its members.
Andrea coaches in the mornings and evenings. Join us in welcoming Coach Andrea to the CrossFit Montgomery family!
